Turbo feature in Gurushots challenges (January, 2024)
The Turbo feature is an interesting new update introduced in Gurushots challenges in January 2024. It represents a significant and positive change.
Turbo provides additional exposure for one of your photos in a challenge, enabling it to gather more votes and advance in the challenge's rank.
To obtain free Turbo exposure, you are required to take a test where several image pairs from the ongoing challenge are presented. You will need to select the image that received more votes in each pair. If the majority of selections are correct, Turbo exposure is granted.
A later update introduced the display of the percentage ratio of votes for each image pair.
In my opinion, the Turbo test enhances understanding of popular voting preferences, helping make my photos more competitive. It elevates Gurushots as an educational tool, adding more transparency into the voting process.
While I usually select popular images correctly in the Turbo test, it occasionally gives me shocking surprises and food for thought. I've also discovered it's better not to rush through the Turbo test at the beginning of the challenge. Waiting a few hours allows for more votes, providing a better statistical representation.
I'm very pleased that Gurushots has added the Turbo feature.
February 2024 update:
After a month of using Turbo mode, I have one thing to add: what happens if I do not win free Turbo? I will still continue with Boost, and if I see the potential for achieving a good result in the challenge, I can spend a Key to unlock the Turbo test again.
